RECIPE FOR CARROT WALNUT HALWA

Ingredients Required:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp milk powder
  • 3/4 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup orderless oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3-4 tbsp walnuts chopped

Method:

1.Sieve flour, milk powder, baking powder and soda, keep aside.
2.In a mixing bowl mix curd, sugar, baking powder and soda, leave this mixture for 5 minutes. then add cinnamon powder and mix well.
3.Add dry mixture and milk alternatively, keep mixing.
4.Now add oil and mix well.
5.Finally fold in carrots and 2 tbsp of walnuts, the batter should be smooth flowing batter.
6.Pour the batter into a greased tin and sprinkle the remaining walnuts on the top.
7.Tap down the tin once then place the tin in the preheated oven and bake at 180c for 30 minutes.
8.Once done, remove from the oven and cool completely.
9.Slice it and serve or store in air tight container
