Baapa special – Ukdiche modak
This is one of my favourite dish, very delicious and good for health. As it is steamed and jaggery is used as sweetner people who are dieting or have diabetes can also have.

For outer cover
- Rice flour 1 cup
- Ghee 1 spoon
Coconut 1 grated
Jaggery 3/4 th cup
Elaichi powder 1/4 spoon
Khaskhas roasted 1 spoon
1.In pan take grated coconut and jaggery cook till it melts
Cook mixture till it get dry ,add elaichi powder ,khaskhas, raisins n keep aside.
2.For outer covering take 1 cup water in pan add ghee and salt and keep it to boil.
3.Once water starts boiling add rice flour slowly keep stirring to avoid lumps.
4. Put lid , cook for couple of minutes
5.Now Switch off the gas transfer this mixture to big plate and knead till it gives smooth texture
6.Now cover this dough with damp cloth.
7.Make equal balls of it , take one ball and spread it on ur hand with help of fingers , give the shape of bowl add coconut stuffing into it and to close it pinch sides and make it like bundle – Modak shape
8.Steam it for 10-15 mins on low flame
9.Top up with ghee and serve hot
