RECIPE FOR METHI MATAR MALAI

Preparation Time:-10 minutes
Cooking Time:-20 minutes
Serve:4

Ingredients Required:

  • 1 small bowl peas
  • 1 big bowl methi (finely chopped and cleaned)
  • 4 tbsp fresh cream(malai)
  • 1 tbsp asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • to taste salt
  • 1 big bowl tomato puree
  • water for gravy
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

Method:

  1. Add oil in a pressure cooker. Add ginger- garlic paste. Saute till pink in colour.
  2. Now add hing and peas and cover cooker with lid. Let the peas cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add methi, turmeric powder and salt. mix properly.
  4. Make a hole in the center. Add tomato puree and cover with the mixture around. Add red chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and let it be for some time till the oil leaves the sides.
  5. Now mix all the masala properly, add fresh cream and mix properly.
  6. Add water to make gravy. Cover the cooker and cook till 4 whistles.
